The University of South Carolina Upstate, set in the picturesque foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is located conveniently along the thriving economic I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte and just a few hours drive from the beaches and mountains. Upstate South Carolina is a dynamic international hub and is home to the highest per capita concentration of international business in the U.S. Consistent with the international character of the Upstate, the University promotes global perspectives across its programs, and, supporting the regional employment objectives of most of its students, provides extensive experiential learning opportunities.
The 330-acre campus in Spartanburg, situated near the intersections of I-85 and I-26 and offers beautiful mountain views, serves as the primary headquarters for USC Upstate. Largely residential, the Spartanburg campus is a continual hub of activity. The campus features the Palmetto and Magnolia Houses (two residence halls for freshmen and upperclassmen), while the The Villas provide apartment-style living for 348 upperclassmen.
Everything about the Spartanburg campus is built around the needs of the students. State-of-the-art labs, smart classrooms, incredible athletic complexes, frequent theatrical and musical performances, more than 80 student organizations, an active Greek community, and tons of other exciting opportunities make this totally wireless campus very student-friendly.
USC Upstate's Greenville Campus is where more than 500 commuting junior and senior level students pursue degrees. The Greenville campus is located at the University Center of Greenville, a nonprofit consortium of seven higher education institutions dedicated to increasing access to educational opportunities for the citizens of the Greater Greenville Metropolitan Area of South Carolina. USC Upstate is the largest provider of undergraduate academic programs at the University Center of Greenville, generating over 70 percent of the Center’s baccalaureate enrollment

The George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics represents the pinnacle partnership achievement of the University’s “metropolitan mission,” providing a magnificent resource for the University’s continuing growth and a major investment in the economic development future of Spartanburg. Located in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, the George facilitates internship opportunities with downtown businesses, offers easier access to community and business leaders willing to share their knowledge and experience as guest lecturers, and provides a location for seeding and incubating entrepreneurial ideas.
