Welcome from Dr. Marilyn Izzard, Director:
Thank you for your interest in the University of South Carolina Upstate Teacher Education program on the USC Sumter Campus. We invite you to become a potential teacher candidate in our fast growing program.
USC Upstate has a 2 + 2 agreement with USC Sumter. This agreement allows students to complete two years of general education classes toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Our program is designed for those individuals who have completed 60 credit hours of general education classes and successfully passed the Praxis Core exam. These courses are offered by USC Upstate on the USC Sumter Campus at the junior and senior level.
If you have a bachelor’s degree, you can also complete our certification only option. This option is also a two-year program which leads to teacher certification in the state of South Carolina.
Please contact me if I can be of assistance.
Thanks,Dr. Marilyn IzzardDirector of Teacher Education ProgramUniversity of South Carolina Sumter
