Upstate International
March is Upstate International month and events have been planned by a group of individuals from education, business, non-profit, civic and social organizations all across the Upstate region to showcase the rich ethnic and cultural uniqueness of the area.
“Upstate International is a new initiative designed to celebrate the international groups among us and their contributions to our region and to educate all of us about the remarkable international diversity in our midst,” said Dr. Deryle Hope, associate director of international studies at USC Upstate and a member of the Upstate International Steering Committee. “There are more than 100 events celebrating music, art, religious, food, and more that can be used for curricular enrichment.”
A full listing of the events planned across the region can be viewed here. The events planned for the Spartanburg area are listed below. For information about Upstate International Month, please contact Dr. Deryle Hope at 503-5769 or Dr. Judith Prince at 503-4243.
