USC Upstate Greenville Campus

Students on the USC Upstate Greenville campus have access to a wide range of student services and programs as listed below. The programs and services are coordinated through the USC Upstate Greenville Campus office, and students and faculty are informed about them through frequent e-blasts. Students who have questions about services or programs may call the Greenville Campus Office at (864) 552-4242 for more information. 

Flu & Pneumonia Vaccine | Flu & Pneumonia Vaccination Clinics  
Health Services will be offering flu and pneumonia vaccines at the University Center Auditorium in Greenville from 8 a.m. -  4 p.m. on Monday, January 28.

    Students: $10 (flu shot)
    Faculty/staff: $20 (flu shot)
    All: $55 (pneumonia shot)

BookstoreWebsite  
A bookstore is provided on-site on the Greenville Campus for two weeks at the beginning and ending of each semester. Students may also order books online and have them shipped directly to their homes or to the Greenville campus. The bookstore buys back books at the end of each semester. 

Campus Recreation and IntramuralsWebsite  
Opportunities are provided for an Indoor Walking Program and education programs promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles. 

Career Services | Website
Career advising is provided by faculty in professional programs on the Greenville campus. Appointments can be made with career advisers on the Spartanburg campus.

Center for International Studies | Website
The Center for International Studies (CIS) encourages all students on the Greenville campus to consider study abroad options for semester, summer, and year-long programs.  In addition, students who have a global perspective are invited to join the International Club and to participate in the “Conversation Partners” program, which provides linkages with international students at USC Upstate. The Center sponsors the following events and activities on the Greenville campus:

  • An annual Study Abroad Fair to promote study abroad programs;
  • Student advisement for international programs by appointment on the Greenville campus;
  • CIS personnel to provide classroom presentations on study abroad upon request by Greenville campus faculty
  • World Language Institute course availability on the Greenville campus

Clubs & Organizations on the Greenville Campus    

Counseling Services | Website 
Personal, career and group counseling, psychological testing and LD and ADHD testing is available at the Greenville campus on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. - noon. Contact Counseling Services at (864) 503-5195 to schedule an appointment.  

Dean of Students | Website
The Dean of Students for USC Upstate is on the Greenville campus for judicial hearings and other meetings as needed by students and faculty. 

Disability Services | Website
The Office of Disability Services works to ensure access for all USC Upstate students.  Students on the USC Upstate Greenville Campus should contact the office at 503-5199 to request a meeting with DS staff.  Depending on the student's preference and staff member availability, staff may travel to the Greenville campus, may connect via webcam technology, or may set up a phone appointment. Staff prefer to meet face-to-face with students accessing services at least once per academic year.  Materials may be sent between the Spartanburg and Greenville campuses via a courier service three days per week, or documents may be scanned and sent via email as well as by courier. Eligible students may contact staff in the office of the Upstate Academic Affairs on the Greenville Campus to access the courier service, for alternative testing accommodations, and other accommodations as determined by Disability Services.  

Enrollment Services | Website
A transfer counselor from the Office of Admissions of USC Upstate is on the Greenville campus on Tuesdays of each week to meet with prospective transfer students about the admissions process. Prospective students may call (864) 552-4242 to make an appointment to meet with the transfer counselor.

Transfer Preview Day and Transfer Orientation Sessions are offered each semester, during which new students on the Greenville campus have Carolina Cards made, meet with advisers, and register for classes. Advisers for the professional programs are available on the Greenville campus. Advisers for programs such as communications and information management technology are on campus one day a week to meet with students. 

Financial Aid | Website
The Office of Financial Aid schedules a financial aid counselor to be on the USC Upstate Greenville Campus on monthly basis. Student may call (864) 552-4242 to make an appointment to see the financial aid counselor on campus. Students can make inquires at any time about financial aid by e-mailing the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@uscupstate.edu.  

Health Services
Health Services provides the opportunity for students to get flu shots on the Greenville campus.

Information Technology Services
The Office of Information Technology and Services schedules a computer technician to be on the Greenville Campus two days a week.  The IT office is located in the University Center library.

Library | Website
The USC Upstate Library maintains both a physical and electronic presence at the USC Upstate Greenville Campus.  The physical library provides individual and group study areas.  There is one section of computers reserved specifically for USC Upstate students.  USC Upstate library faculty are physically present at the Library on a regular schedule to help students develop research skills using the more than 200 databases available online and to teach information literacy to students enrolled in classes at Greenville.   The library faculty also maintain virtual office hours when they are not on the Greenville campus. The virtual office hours offer communication via telephone, e-mail, chat, text, and Adobe Connect.   

SNAC Pantry
A SNAC (Spartan Nutritional Assistance Campaign) Food Pantry on the Greenville campus provides food, nutritional information, and other basic necessities to USC Upstate Greenville campus students in need. The program helps reduce stress and help students become more engaged in learning. 

Student Government Association | Website
SGA senators are appointed to represent the Greenville campus. SGA Officers meet monthly in Greenville with student senators to discuss issues and initiatives.

Student Activities
Activities for students include Welcome Back events in Fall and Spring, Fall Festival, Spring Game Night, Exam Study Breakers, Breakfast with the Chancellor, Graduation Fair, and more.  Students are notified by of events and how to sign up to participate in them by email.

Tuition Payments  

  • A staff member on the Greenville campus accepts payments for and provides students with receipts for tuition, admission fees, and other financial transactions. 
  • A staff member on the Greenville campus develops tuition payment plans for Greenville students in collaboration with the Office of Financial Services.

Tutoring | Website
Tutoring for some upper-division courses is available on the Greenville campus either using technology (Polycom) or Skype or in person. Students interested in working with a tutor in Greenville may call Susannah Waldrop in the Office of Student Success at (864)503-5392 to discuss their tutoring needs.

Writing Workshops | Website 
Students in Greenville are provided a series of writing workshops funded by the College of Arts and Sciences. These workshops are offered in classes in Greenville, videotaped, and provided online on the Greenville website for students to view at any time.  These workshops and other information on the Greenville campus can be found at the Greenville campus webpage which can be accessed from the home page of the USC Upstate website.
