Pre-Occupational Therapy

The only occupational therapy degree program in the state is offered by the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. MUSC offers a 26-month curriculum leading to a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences: Occupational Therapy. USC Upstate offers a Pre-Occupational Therapy curriculum that meets the MUSC admission requirements.

Bachelor of Science in Biology (Pre-Occupational Therapy) Degree Requirements

MUSC General Admission Requirements and Information:
A bachelor's degree and Graduate Record Exam (GRE) are required for admission to MUSC. Admission is competitive. Recent entering students averaged a 3.6 GPA and 1700 on all GRE components.

Pre-Occupational Therapy Course Requirements (in conjunction with a bachelor's degree):

Statistics (Mathematics 102 or Psychology 225)
Biology 318 (Comparative Anatomy)
Biology 360 (Comparative Physiology)
Developmental Psychology (Psychology 302)
Abnormal Psychology (Psychology 310)
Sociology or Anthropology

*CPR certification required
