Dr. Carson also directs the 150-voice USC Upstate Gospel Choir and he is the coordinator of academic advising. He teaches courses in African American literature and culture and serves the campus in a number of leadership capacities. He is the author of many articles and presentations in the field of African American Literature and Studies. Dr. Carson is perhaps best known on the USC Upstate campus for his leadership of the Gospel Choir and his beautiful voice!
