The professor that has made a difference in my life is Prof. Branan. She is very knowledgeable about nursing and is passionate about the field. She is someone I strive to emulate.

I have several dream careers that I would be happy with. I would enjoy being a nurse practitioner working with children or doing lab research.
What does USC Upstate mean to you?
As an untraditional student, the USC Upstate’s satellite Greenville campus allows me to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. I would not have been able to pursue this degree if it wasn’t for the location of their Greenville campus since I am also a wife and mother to a 4-year old child.
This scholarship reminds me that hard work and good grades still mean something these days. I sometimes hear people say they are just going to do the minimum in order to get their degree. I want to go beyond that. I want to excel and get the most out of my education. Knowing that someone recognizes my desire gives me the incentive to do the best that I can.
