Universidad de Alicante

Located slightly north of the Mediterranean coastal city of Alicante, the University of Alicante was founded in 1979. The main campus is located in San Vicente del Raspeig and is now host to over 28,000 students. The university offers over 50 degrees and houses 5 research institutes. While a majority of their classes are taught in Spanish, they also offer a growing number of courses in English in areas including art, business, engineering, sciences and others. The city of Alicante, or Alacant for those who speak Valencian, is a historic Mediterranean port in the southern Valencian Community of Spain. It is met at the sea by the Costa Blanca which is a 120 mile stretch of coastline that is a popular tourist destination. The metropolitan area is home to around three-quarters of a million people. Using a new rail system, people can travel to the world-renowned cities of Madrid and Barcelona with ease.
