The Susan Jacobs Arboretum hosts several University and Community events during the year, including the School of Education's Graduate Hooding Ceremony, Student Life's Spring Fest, and theSpartanburg Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours.
Spartanburg Boy Scout Troops #1 and 2 constructed two of the bridges in the Arboretum for their community project.
The Spartanburg Garden Council officers hosted their annual President's Tea.
Alumus Steve Harvey, class of '81, and his mother attended the dedication of the trees event on Arbor Day 2006. A tree is named in honor of Steve by his family in the Arboretum.
