Louanne K. Weber is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and has had the privilege of serving as the Director of Health Services at USC Upstate since January, 2007. She received her education, which includes both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from the University of Tennessee. Louanne also completed post-graduate studies at UT in a clinical specialty of Parent/Child Nursing. She has been a family nurse practitioner since 1982, and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in 1983.
While living in Knoxville, Louanne taught nursing in Associate Degree, Diploma, and Baccalaureate Degree programs, as well as served as a clinical preceptor for graduate-level nurse practitioner students from UT. She was also an administrator in two medical centers, with concentrations in Maternal-Infant, Employee Health & Wellness Nursing. She spent several years as a provider of women’s health and family care, both in the public and private sector. In 1988, she selected as an Outstanding Young Woman of America.
Upon moving to South Carolina, Louanne served as the Director of the Urgent Care Center at Mary Black Westside, Manager of Employee Health & Wellness at the Greenville Hospital System, and Emergency Services Nurse Practitioner and Coordinator of Patient Care Services at Bon Secours St. Francis Health System in Greenville. She came to USC Upstate from South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control where she was a Senior Public Health Nurse Administrator of Adult & Employee Health Services, as well as the Clinical Practice Specialist/APRN Coordinator in Region 2. Louanne is currently a guest lecturer in the family nurse practitioner program of the graduate school at Clemson University. She also serves as clinical preceptor for Clemson and other students from area nurse practitioner programs. She has a special interest in health promotion, family planning, and the care of young adults. Louanne is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, South Carolina Nurses' Association and the Upstate Nurse Practitioner Association.
Louanne’s immediate family includes her husband Mark, with whom she graduated high school in Indiana, a daughter, two sons, and a pair of miniature dachshunds. Her hobbies include travel, interior decorating, and a variety of sewing and needlecraft projects.
