ITS Departments

Client Services exists to assist faculty, staff and students to effectively incorporate technology into their endeavors. This department is responsible for campus-wide computer support, technology and the ITS Client Support Desk (located in Administration 109). The Director of Client Services is Kevin Hodges.

Network Support and Telecommunications deal with the network backbone, the wired and wireless access environment as well as the Active Directory structure and server farm for the campus. They also manage USC Upstate's telephone and digital network services, as well as all hardware and equipment repairs. This group also handles student telephone service, and voice mail. The Director of Network Support and Telecommunications is Chris Hanke.

Information Systems  is responsible for USC Upstate's administrative databases used by offices and departments across the college. Information Systems supports the gathering, processing, and interpreting of information relative to the administrative tasks that support the academic mission of USC Upstate. The Director of Information Systems is Scott Corbin.

Instructional Media Services  provides other non-computer needs for all departments at USC Upstate, such as audio and video production services, media (videotape, CD, and DVD) duplication, and project consultation as time allows. The Interim Director of Instructional Media Services is Robert Thomas.

Instructional Technology  serves to advance excellence in teaching and learning by creating and sustaining innovative and interactive programs in support of faculty development in instructional technology. The Director of Instructional Technology is Cindy Jennings.

3:30 PM Nov 18th

Work has begun on the Fileway update.  Fileway will remain down until the update is complete.  Network admins are hoping to have this done by Friday.

5:12 PM Nov 17th

Mail sent to student email from faculty email between Saturday and Monday was not delivered. Faculty must resend those messages.
