Policy
This document sets forth the policy of the University of South Carolina on the use of telephones, facsimile machines, photocopy equipment, computers, and other communicating devices provided to faculty and staff for the performance of their University responsibilities. Telephones, facsimile machines, photocopy equipment, computers, and other communicating devices located in any administrative or academic unit of the University are intended to be used solely for University-related business. The personal use of telephones, facsimile machines, photocopy equipment, computers, and other communicating devices is strongly discouraged except in emergency situations and on a limited time basis. It is the responsibility of an employee's supervisor to monitor and regulate the use of these University resources. The personal use of telephones or communication devices that will result in a charge to a University account is strictly prohibited. Violations of this policy by faculty or staff will result in appropriate disciplinary actions and/or possible prosecution under South Carolina statute.
