The Promise of Loyalty: Investment in the Future
Your gift to USC Upstate can help sustain the academic environment that nurtures achievement-oriented alumni and future leaders.
Leaders recognize opportunity, responsibility and value. They also know how to cultivate all three to overcome challenges and achieve objectives.
Chris Crowley, community leader, philanthropist and retired business owner, maximized his abilities in achieving his objective of earning a college degree which he did from USC Upstate in December 2011.
“I’m grateful for the second chance USC Upstate gave me,” says Crowley. “Upstate is all about first and second chances – for first-generation college students and for those of us who return.”
These chances provide the opportunity for personal fulfillment and community success.
“USC Upstate graduates are the ones who are going to staff any new companies,” he says. “In a lot of ways, the economic future of this community is tied to USC Upstate more so than any other institutions of higher learning.”
That way of thinking, along with his leadership abilities and recently earned USC Upstate degree led to his being asked to steer the university’s $50 million Capital Campaign. It’s another challenge this alumni readily accepted.
Opportunity, responsibility and value…a leader knows how to maximize potential.
“If we are going to improve the standard of living in our community, it is in our collective best interest to invest in USC Upstate.”
