Chinese Culture Table 2009

The topic of this culture table is East and West: General and Perceived Cultural Differences. Simple artistic slides will be shown which represent general or perceived differences between "Eastern" and "Western" culture. Guests are invited and encouraged to interpret the slides followed by an explanation along with shared experiences of the presenters.This event will be hosted by hosted by Professor Stuart Foster, Yingxi Zhou, Fangxiongyi Li, and Xinyi Zhu. USC Upstate Health Services to Administer the H1N1 Vaccine
USC Upstate Health Services has been approved to administer the H1N1 vaccine, however, there is a limited supply.These vaccines are available to USC Upstate students for $5. Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to receive both the H1N1 and Seasonal Flu vaccine free of charge: 1) under the age of 19, 2) uninsured, 3) insurance doesn’t cover immunizations, or 4) based on personal (not family) income.The H1N1 vaccine is given by appointment only so students must call 503-5191 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will not be seen for immunizations.

A Grand Night: Courtney Hawkins Scores 1,000th As Upstate Downs North Greenville, 78-47
Senior Courtney Hawkins (Greer, S.C./Greer) became the 12th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points as she secured the fourth double-double of her career with 13 points and 10 rebounds, leading the USC Upstate women's basketball team to a 78-47 win over North Greenville in the season opener for the Spartans on Friday night at the G.B. Men's Basketball: Spartans Fall In Season Opener At Nebraska
Despite a balanced scoring attack with nine of the 10 active players scoring, USC Upstate succumbed to a late first half spurt and an early scoring drought in the second half as Nebraska took a 76-49 victory over the Spartans Saturday night in the Devaney Center. Upstate dropped its season opener for the third straight season in Division I. The Spartans will travel to Bloomington, Ind., to take on Indiana Monday night at 8:30 in a game televised on the Big Ten Network. Nebraska improved to 1-0 on the year. Here is the entire story...

Come visit an inflatable, interactive colon exhibit that teaches people about the risks, symptoms, prevention, early detection and treatment options for colorectal cancer. Visitors get a close-up look at healthy tissue, tissue with non-malignant colorectal diseases, as well as tissue with various stages of colorectal cancer.
