What are the hours that the Cashier’s Office is open?
Our hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Where is the Cashier’s Office located?
We are now located in the Health Education Complex (HEC) on campus. Click here to view a map of campus and see where we are located. We look forward to having you visit us in our new location.
How can I make my tuition payment?
You can make your tuition payment in a variety of ways, including:
- Option One – Online through VIP by e-check.
- Option Two – Online through VIP by credit or debit card. The University system, which includes USC Upstate, accepts Mastercard, Discover and American Express. The University does not accept Visa.
- Option Three – In the Cashier’s Office, by check or cash only.
You can not make your tuition payment over the phone, nor can you make your payment in our office with a credit or debit card. Credit or debit card payments can only be made online through VIP.
What is an e-check?
It is an electronic check. Use this option to input your checking information directly into VIP. This eliminates having to stand in line at the cashier’s office or risk having your check lost in the mail and miss the cancellation deadline. There is no charge for using an e-check. It is the fastest and safest way to pay tuition.

When is the last day to pay for my classes before they are canceled?
The last day to pay your tuition for the Spring Semester is January 7, 2010. Students may begin to set up spring tuition payment plans on December 10, 2009.
When will I receive my financial aid overage check?
All financial aid overage checks are deposited directly into the student’s checking account. All students must turn in a direct deposit form. Please note, Columbia requires three weeks to implement a student’s direct deposit. Mail the direct deposit form, along with a blank check marked VOID to:

If you only have a debit card and have no printed checks, your bank will furnish you a form with your account information to attach instead of a voided check.
If you do not have a bank account, you may open a checking account with Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union here on campus. It is located on the second floor of the CLC building. Their website is www.carolina.org.
