The USC Upstate Graduate Education Programs Office aims to serve the in-service teacher. We value your time as a working professional and offer courses to fit your busy schedule. The Graduate Programs Office offers professional development courses for recertification and 15-hour course sequence leading to ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) endorsement.
The State Department of Education Renewal Credit Plan requires that any educator who has not earned a master’s degree must earn at least sixty renewal credits (three semester hours) in graduate-level coursework to renew his or her current certificate.
USC Upstate provides compensation for those individuals in public schools who agree to work with student teachers by offering cooperating administrators and cooperating teachers the opportunity to enroll in graduate courses at a reduced rate. [Fees: $5.00 tuition, per credit hour & $8.00 technology Fee, per credit hour & $25.00 parking fee, per spring/fall semester ($10.00 summer)]
