Cracking the Code
Knowing the code can help you successfully navigate the system.
Section Codes:
The section number is three digits and identifies the where and when of the course. Look for the following section numbers:

| 200 | Distance Education (Blended and Online - check course listing for any face to face/on-campus requirements) |
| 333,334,335 | Scholars Academy |
| 400 | University Center of Greenville course |
| 450 | University Center of Greenville evening course |
| 700 | Downtown campus (starting fall 2010) |
| 750 | Downtown campus evening course |
| 800 | Sumter |
| 9XX | Teleconferencing-Distance Education (class meets face to face, but may also be delivered via two-way audio/video to a remote site) |
| 901 | Upstate site |
| 941 | Greenville site |
| 971 | Downtown Spartanburg site |
| 981 | Sumter site |
What are sessions and why are they important to me?
Each Upstate class is attached to a session (part of the academic term calendar) that determines important dates, such as deadlines for changing sections, the last day to drop or withdraw without receiving a grade of “WF,” or the last day to receive a full or partial refund.
