USC Upstate & Greenville/Spartanburg Area Cessation Resources

Because smoking and other tobacco use is a complex habit that encompasses physical, behavioral, and psychological aspects, people need a plan that simultaneously addresses these issues.  The best chance for long-term success happened when the quit plan includes the following two components:

  1. Consultation with a health or medical professional – your doctor or other healthcare professional can provide insights into the risks of smoking as they relate to you.  He/she can also help you with information about the proper use of medication and/or nicotine replacement products to assist you with your quit plan.
  2. Utilizing other resources that make sense to you – the following is a list of cessation resources at USC Upstate, in the Greenville – Spartanburg area, and on the Web.
