Kathy L. Pettit
Kathy completed her Associate Degree in Nursing
from the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg through the Mary Black
School of Nursing in May, 1987.
Following graduation she began her nursing career as a staff nurse in
the Emergency Department of Mary Black Memorial Hospital in Spartanburg.
After completion of two years of service in the Emergency
Department, Kathy transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where
she worked as a staff nurse in that Level 2 environment, and successfully
completed the required annual certifications for continued service for eighteen
years until June, 2005.
Kathy joined the staff of Health Services in a part-time
capacity later in 2005, and has been serving the
students, faculty, and staff of USC Upstate.
She is also certified as a CPR Instructor.
