I.D. Cards and Parking Decals
I.D. Cards
The ID card system transitioned to Public Safety (Police Dept.) on July 1, 2011.
ID cards may be obtained Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (excluding holidays)
Here is some helpful information to assist you:
ID Cards:
- Must present a photo ID such as a passport, driver’s license or other acceptable form of identification.
- Carolina Card Holder Agreements must be completed. This can be done on VIP prior to coming for an ID.
Student instructions:
The Cardholder Agreement form may be accessed on your VIP account.
- Simply log into your account at https://vip.sc.edu
- Click “FINANCIAL” on the left hand side of the screen
- Click “SHOW ME” Carolina Card Options near the bottom of the page.
- On the Carolina Card options page click “SHOW ME” Carolina Card Cardholder Agreement to complete the agreement.
Faculty/Staff Instructions:
To process your faculty/staff ID you will need to fill out the Carolina Card Cardholder Agreement form before you arrive at the Department of Public Safety.
The Cardholder Agreement form may be accessed on your VIP account.
- Simply log into your account at https://vip.sc.edu
- Click “PERSONAL” on the left hand side of the screen
- Click “SHOW ME” Carolina Card Options near the bottom of the page
- On the Carolina Card options page click “SHOW ME” Carolina Card Cardholder Agreement to complete the agreement.
Parking DecalsIn order to obtain a parking decal for the new academic year, each driver must present a valid:
- University ID card
- Vehicle registration card.
On August 20 - 24, parking decals will be available at the HEC on the avenue near the Bookstore between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Decals are always available at the Department of Public Safety, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- All students driving a car on campus are required to obtain a new parking decal at the start of the fall semester.
- All faculty and staff members driving a vehicle on campus must also register their vehicle.
- Returning faculty and staff permits from 2009/2010 are valid for four years. (Replacements are available free of charge if decals are worn or peeling).
