DESCRIPTION:David Ignatius writes a twice-a-week foreign affairs column for The Washington Post. Ignatius joined The Post in 1986 as editor of its Sunday Outlook section. In 1990\, he became foreign editor\, and in 1993\, assistant managing editor for business news. \n\n\n\nHe began writing his column in 1998 and continued even during a three-year stint as executive editor of the International Herald Tribune in Paris. Earlier in his career\, Ignatius was a reporter for The Wall Street Journal\, covering at various times the steel industry\, the Departments of State and Justice\, the CIA\, the Senate\, and the Middle East. \n\n\n\nIgnatius has written 12 spy novels: \n\n\n\n“Phantom Orbit” (2024)\, “The Paladin” (2020)\, “The Quantum Spy\,” (2017)\, “The Director\,” (2014)\, “Bloodmoney” (2011)\, “The Increment” (2009)\, “Body of Lies” (2007)\, “The Sun King” (1999)\, “A Firing Offense” (1997)\, “The Bank of Fear” (1994)\, “SIRO” (1991)\, and “Agents of Innocence” (1987). “Body of Lies” was made into a 2008 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. \n\n\n\nIgnatius grew up in Washington\, D.C. and studied political theory at Harvard College and economics at Kings College\, Cambridge. SUMMARY:Sparty's Ball
DESCRIPTION:The USC Upstate Athletic Fund as announced the date and location for the 2026 edition of Sparty’s Ball\, the largest fundraising event of the year supporting the more than 350 USC Upstate student-athletes. \n\n\n\nThis year’s event will take place on Friday\, May 15 at The Piedmont Club\, located at 361 E. Main Street in Spartanburg.  Not only will the event see a new day of the week – moving from a Saturday to Friday evening and a new location\, but also a new time as the event is slated to begin at 6:30 pm. \n\n\n\nSparty’s Ball is presented by The Sports Medicine Institute\, a division of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System and is supported by Ingles\, Spartan Waste\, Founders Federal Credit Union and Clayton Construction. \n\n\n\nTickets for Sparty’s Ball will go on-sale March 1st with table and event sponsorships available now.  Entertainment for this year’s event will be announced in the coming weeks as well!  Sparty’s Ball is the largest annual fundraising event for the Upstate Athletic Fund (UAF)\, the development arm of the University’s athletic department. Come dressed to impress; cocktail attire is required. Attendees will visit with Spartan coaches\, administrators\, and student-athletes throughout the evening.
