Master of Education in Visual Impairment: Shaping Future Educators
Elevate your teaching career with the exclusive Master of Education in Visual Impairment Program at USC Upstate. As the only program of its kind in South Carolina, we offer a transformative educational journey for certified teachers seeking specialization in visual impairment
Why Choose Our Program?
With a significant percentage of current teachers of visually impaired students set to retire within the next few years, there’s never been a better time to explore this critical field. Our program is meticulously designed to align with the core values of the College of Education and the standards set by the Council for Exceptional Children.
A Comprehensive Approach
Immerse yourself in a two-year journey that combines live classes at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind during summers and distance learning sessions in fall and spring. Our program covers a range of essential subjects, including braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology, ensuring you’re fully prepared to address the diverse educational needs of students with visual impairments.
Empowering Educators
Our program goes beyond traditional classroom learning. It emphasizes collaborative clinical experiences in real school settings, allowing you to apply your skills and knowledge effectively. Benefit from small class sizes, a supportive learning environment, and courses offered through both on-campus and distance delivery methods.
