When you are ready to apply please include the following:
• Preferred cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
• Official transcripts to the admissions office at USC Upstate
• 1-2 page personal goal statement describing career goals and how the DNP Degree with a concentration in Public and Community Health will be utilized
• Current CV or Resume with education, professional experiences, certifications, leadership and healthcare experiences with diverse or under served population, paid or volunteer
• A letter of reference that attest to the applicant’s academic ability, professional competency and personal character from doctoral-prepared registered nurses or physician
• Unencumbered, active registered nurse (RN) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in state where clinical experiences will occur
• MSN & BSN from accredited nursing program
• Current BLS certification
Opportunity to Submit Third-Party Comments
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) – a nationally recognized accrediting agency for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs is reviewing the Mary Black College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina Upstate for initial accreditation of the DNP program on September 11-13, 2024.
In accordance with CCNE’s procedures, the Commission provides the opportunity for program constituents and other interested parties to submit, in writing, third party comments concerning a program’s qualifications for accreditation. Third-party comments regarding programs hosting fall 2024 evaluations will be received by CCNE until 21 days before the scheduled on-site evaluation. So, comments must be received by CCNE no later than August 20, 2024. Third-party comments must relate to the CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs (2018). All third-party comments submitted to CCNE must be written in English, consistent with CCNE’s policy on Conduct of Business in English. Comments are shared only with the CCNE evaluation team appointed to review the nursing program.
