February 22 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
You are invited to attend our fourth annual Soulful Sunday, the campus’ kick-off event for Black History Month, on February 22 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Our theme for Black History Month this year is “Lift Every Voice” and we will highlight how we can lift our voices through art, advocacy, civic engagement, and more throughout February.
Tickets for USC Upstate students, faculty, and staff are free (but registration is required) and community/guest tickets are $10.00/person. Registration and ticket sales are open until 11:59 p.m. on February 18 or once capacity is reached.
Our dinner will be provided by Spice N Soul Cuisine again this year and cupcakes from Big Ben’s Desserts are back as well. The award-winning USC Upstate Gospel Choir will perform, DJ Melly Mel will provide music, and our keynote speaker is the Rev. Dr. Lekesha Attuquayefio of Houston, TX.
I would like to thank the University of South Carolina’s Office of Access and Opportunity for an Inclusive Excellence grant that subsidizes some of the costs of Soulful Sunday.
Please share the event information with family, friends, students, colleagues, community members, and others who may want to attend.
If you have any questions, please email Buck Cooke at [email protected].
