Below the Line

A Monthly Q&A with Chancellor Harris for Greenville Business Magazine

“Below the Line” is a monthly question-and-answer session in which Chancellor Bennie L. Harris, Ph.D., of the University of South Carolina Upstate, interviews a leader about change, technology, education, and leadership.

Chancellor Harris’ sit-downs have included sessions with the following:

  • Kelli Valade, chief executive officer of Denny’s, Inc.;
  • Clarence Sevillian, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Prisma Health; and
  • Don Bent, former chief operating officer at OshKosh Defense

These sessions provide a unique opportunity for a frank and open discussion about your career trajectory, how you mesh personal and professional passions, and how you navigate leading “below the line”— recognizing what’s going on beneath the surface for leaders and teams and diving in to find out exactly what is at play in order to make a project or plan successful.

“Below the Line” is featured in Greenville Business Magazine and its affiliate publications.
