Named in honor of South Carolina Chief Justice Donald W. Beatty, the University of South Carolina Upstate’s Center for Justice & Society (The Beatty Center) empowers students seeking careers in law, criminal justice, and public service. Part of the College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences, The Beatty Center leverages existing legal and justice-related programs at USC Upstate to elevate students’ academic experiences. It also works with partners within the Upstate of South Carolina and the state to create opportunities for students and address local issues.
