The USC Upstate Herbarium, which is open to the public by appointment, houses 18,000 labeled and mounted specimens of plant native to the Upstate and nearby areas. Please contact Dr. Ben Montgomery to schedule a time to visit.
Plant identification services are available. Please contact Dr. Montgomery beforehand to discuss whether collection of a specimen is necessary or desirable, and if so, how to collect it in a manner that preserves its features for identification.
