Professional Certificates for Working Adults
Our renowned faculty lead a number of professional certifications, designed with working adults in mind. Several faculty-taught professional certificates are already available to the community, including the below featured programs.

Professional Certificate in Crime Analysis
Law enforcement officers and justice-minded community leaders can gain marketable skills in identifying crime patterns to better inform policing decisions. No previous crime analysis knowledge needed. Each of the five courses in this series is offered online for 7.5 weeks, and all are taught by experienced Criminal Justice faculty.
Professional Spanish Interpreting in Educational Settings
This program is designed for 1) educators working in K-12 schools, 2) college and adult education providers, and 3) community members who wish to develop professional interpreting skills to apply in educational settings. Must be bilingual. Upon completion, students earn 5.0 CEUs and a professional certificate.
Certified Innovation Professional (CIP)
The CIP consists of 8 lessons with various assignments and a comprehensive innovation project, all delivered in an online, self-paced format. For each assignment, participants receive instruction, guidance and professional critique. Faculty also provide one-on-one coaching for a specific innovation project that can be applied to the participant’s real-world work. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certification as an Innovation Professional issued by the University of South Carolina Upstate and Ideation International, Inc.
