Family and Alumni Weekend is an exciting fall event that offers a wonderful opportunity for families and alumni to reconnect with our vibrant campus community.
During this weekend, participants can enjoy a variety of activities, including campus tours, receptions, alumni reunions, and thrilling rides and activities.
Sporting events will also be a highlight, showcasing our Spartan spirit. Whether you’re returning as an alumnus or visiting as a family member, this weekend promises to be memorable and enriching.

Morgan Square Madness – october 22
South Carolina’s only outdoor interactive basketball event, Morgan Square Madness powered by Ingles, will return for a third year to the heart of downtown Spartanburg.
The first two installments have been met with rave reviews and huge turnouts in downtown Spartanburg.
Morgan Square Madness includes the introduction of the USC Upstate men’s and women’s basketball teams and music from DJ Sha, contests, giveaways and a whole lot more. Best of all, Morgan Square Madness is free and open to the public!
New this year, the Student Zone is presented by the SC National Guard!
This exclusive area is designed to give our Upstate students a front-row experience like never before. Located right next to all the action, the Student Zone will be the ultimate hangout spot to celebrate Spartan basketball with your fellow classmates. Rigsby’s Burgers and Grill, Salsarita’s, and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice will be on-hand serving a custom menu for USC Upstate students to purchase menu items at a great price! Most items will be $10 or less. The FIRST 100 STUDENTS will receive a $10 food voucher to redeem at one of these three locations in the Student Zone and a T-Shirt!

Rocktoberfest

Kick off fall with a thrilling evening on campus. Experience free rides including Spinner, Tubs of Fun, Rock Wall, Slide, and more! Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun!
Rocktoberfest will be located in the Burroughs Parking Lot.

USC UPSTATE RING CEREMONY & LUNCH:

John C. Stockwell Administration Building & Fountain
Be part of the tradition as our juniors, seniors and alumni receive their official USC Upstate rings in the first-ever ring ceremony. There will be a complimentary lunch after the ceremony.
This event is invitation only to the students who have purchased the official USC Upstate ring this year and their guests.

FAMILY FEST:
2:30 pm – 5:30 pm
We are bringing the entire Spartan Family together for a Family Fest! Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, friends, fans, aunts, uncles, everyone is invited for this campus event! We will enjoy a Food Truck Rodeo, Biergarten, inflatables, face painting and more activities alongside a sneak peek at USC Upstate Spartan Basketball.
Athletics will also be hosting a gear swap! Bring any shirts from other universities you would like to trade UP for an Upstate branded shirt.
Family Fest will be held on the Quad behind the John C. Stockwell Administration Building and in the G.B. Hodge Center.
Entry into Family Fest and the sporting events is FREE. There will be food trucks available for you to purchase food at separately. Register early for our 1967 Package and receive a $10 food voucher for the food trucks and pre-order your Family and Alumni Weekend T-shirt.

*Gear Exchange: Any fan who brings in an article of clothing (t-shirt, hoodie, hat, socks, etc.) bearing the logo of another university may exchange it on game day (MSOC or WSOC) at the Athletics Gear Exchange table for a USC Upstate athletics t-shirt. All items received will be donated to Miracle Hill Ministries.
