Limited access to grocery stores and recreational opportunities can have a significant impact on people’s health. Our Community Health program is dedicated to addressing these and other critical social inequalities in our region.
Meet Carmen Blake, a senior majoring in Community Health. Carmen recently completed her internship as an AmeriCorps volunteer, where she helped low-income families access healthy food options. Carmen says her favorite part of the experience was interacting with clients. “Seeing how grateful they are to get service, I enjoy that.”
