INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING

Have nursing skills and will travel! Take everything you’ve learned as a USC Upstate nursing student and make a difference in South Africa. The program is open to nursing students at the undergraduate and graduate levels who meet the pre-requisite requirements listed below. Join Dr. Stephanie Barnhill and Dr. Monique Jones on the experience of a lifetime. Serve communities by providing health clinics and gain real world experience which may be reflected on your resume. Students enrolled in 6 credit hours will allow for summer financial aid to be used. Planned Tours and excursions mean there will be plenty of fun to be had. You might even see a wild African penguin!

  • Program Fee: $5,800

    Fee includes: Housing, airfare, most meals, in-country transportation, health & travel insurance, planned events & tours, pre-departure orientation.

    Fee does not include: Summer tuition, trip delay/cancellation insurance, personal expenses.

    Payment Schedule: 
    Non-refundable Deposit: $1000 – February 1, 2025
    First Payment: $2,400 – March 1, 2025
    Second Payment: $2,400 – April 1, 2025

    Course Taken Abroad: NURS U461/471P

    Master’s Students
    Prerequisite Requirements: Admission into graduate program.
    Course Taken Abroad: NURS U715

    Doctoral Students
    Prerequisite Requirements: Admission into graduate program.
    Course Taken Abroad: NURS U803/804P
