Bridget Kirkland is a professor, designer, and creative leader with over 15 years of experience in higher education. As chair of the Department of Fine Arts & Communication Studies at USC Upstate, she oversees programs in Art Education, Graphic Design, Theatre, Music, and Communications. She co-directs Studio Upstate, a student-run graphic design firm that provides experiential learning through real-world client work. Her teaching and scholarship explore the intersections of visual language, memory, and professional practice. Outside of academia, Bridget actively engages in freelance design and community arts initiatives. She is an active board member of the Chapman Cultural Center and Hatcher Gardens.
