Here, we don’t just teach English; we engage in transformative experiences. Dr. Hardin’s class partners with Jesse Boyd Elementary School, where the mission is to inspire and equip young minds for a lifetime of learning. This is your chance to be part of a community that promotes academic excellence, confidence, and creativity.
Through Dr. Hardin’s service learning project, “We Write the Books We Want to Read,” you’ll embark on a journey to make a difference. Join forces with elementary students to co-author informational books based on their interests and motivations for reading. Dive into research, planning, and digital tools to create an original text on a self-selected topic.
But that’s not all—students and teachers receive printed copies of these books, and the project crescendos with an Author Celebration. Imagine the satisfaction of watching young authors proudly read aloud their creations to parents, teachers, and school personnel.
