Since I graduated from USC Upstate in 2016 with my bachelor’s in nursing I have worked in many areas of nursing and several healthcare facilities. The majority of my years as a nurse and my current area of expertise is in outpatient perioperative nursing and I hold my specialty certification in this area of nursing as well (CAPA).
I am currently holding a position as a subject matter expert in physiology education content development as well as a practice committee member for APBANC (American Board of Perianesthesis Nursing Certification). I love perioperative nursing and never think I will leave this type of nursing entirely. However, I want to share my knowledge and bring awareness to how awesome and versatile being a nurse is, so this is what has led me into nursing education.
In May 2025 I completed my MSN in Nursing Education at USC Upstate. I am so thankful for the knowledge and experiences that I have had with USC Upstate as an undergraduate nursing student and as a graduate nursing student.
My nursing professors have been wonderful and inspiring to me as a nurse and now as a nursing educator. I am now teaching as an adjunct instructor for the University of South Carolina Columbia College of Nursing. The College of Nursing at USC Upstate is a wonderful nursing school that prepared me for success in my career, and I very well may one day return to complete my DNP with USC Upstate in the future.
