Take part in the professional development opportunity of a lifetime with USC Upstate’s nursing study abroad program to China! This brand new program allows students to gain firsthand global healthcare experience by participating in clinical rotations at Dong E. Hospital and Liaocheng Cardiac Hospital in Shandong, China. You’ll expand your professional skills, deepen your cultural understanding, and see how healthcare is practiced in an international setting.

In addition to your clinical experience, you’ll explore Beijing and the world-famous Great Wall of China. Join us for an unforgettable journey that combines professional growth, cultural immersion, and adventures abroad!

Students will enroll in NURS U461/471P – International Community and Public Health Nursing (6 credit hours).

Program Requirements:
2nd semester junior in the BSN program by the summer of 2026 or enrolled in the RN-BSN program.
2.5 GPA

Participants must have a valid passport by February 1st, 2026. The passport must be valid for at least 12 months after the program end date. The program will require obtaining a Chinese tourist visa.

  • Departure: June 18, 2026 (Arrive in China on 6/20)
    Return: June 29, 2026 (Depart China on 6/28)

  • Program Fee: $3,500

    Fee includes: Scheduled events/tours, round-trip airfare, housing, health & travel insurance, in-country transportation, meals in hospital, local support from hosts.

    Fee does not include: summer tuition, some meals, trip delay/cancellation insurance, optional excursions.

    Payment Schedule:
    Non-refundable Deposit: $1,000 – February 1, 2026
    First Payment: $1,250 – March 1, 2026
    Final Payment: $1,250 – April 1, 2026
