ANTIGONE

By Sophocles
Directed by Dee Slade
Production Dates: Oct 1-4, 2026
About ANTIGONE: Antigone tells the story of a young woman who defies the law to do what she believes is right. After a civil war in Thebes, King Creon orders that Polynices— labeled a traitor—must not be buried, but his sister Antigone secretly gives him funeral rites, honoring divine law over human law. When Creon discovers her actions, he punishes her harshly, setting off a tragic chain of events. The play explores themes of moral duty, justice, loyalty to family, and the consequences of pride and rigid authority.

About PROOF: Catherine has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, Robert. When he dies, she has more than grief to deal with: There’s her estranged sister, Claire, and Hal, a former student of her father’s who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that Robert left behind.
