Rotary International Peace Park

A beautiful 6-acre park sits on the campus of the University of South Carolina Upstate. This park is a place to relax, contemplate, watch, wish and pray for peace and understanding.

The Upstate Rotary International Peace Park was made possible by a unique partnership between USC Upstate and four Rotary Clubs in Spartanburg (North Spartanburg, Spartanburg West, Inman and East Spartanburg).

The park was dedicated in April 2008 and boasts nearly 400 trees, a seeded lawn with sprinklers, various gardens, and a fountain in the small lake. The park features boardwalks, park benches, walking paths, an outdoor classroom amphitheatre, a conifer collection, shrub roses and ornamental grasses. It is a beautiful place that students, community members and travelers enjoy.

Benches provide respite for meditation. Beautifully landscaped areas beckon us for reflection and contemplation. Trees shelter and grace the site while the sounds of water in motion soothe your senses and relax your mind.

The Upstate Rotary International Peace Park offers a unique opportunity to honor or memorialize someone. Each donated feature is signified with a plaque to recognize the donor or honoree.
