    General Auditions: Tuesday, November 19 at 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. | Studio Theatre – Room 129 of the Performing Arts Center

    Audition Requirements:
    -Please prepare 16-32 bars (30 seconds to one minute) of a song in the style of the show.
    -Please bring recorded accompaniment for the song, a speaker will be provided at the audition.
    -If you do not have a song, you may sing the National Anthem a cappella.

    Callbacks: Wednesday, November 20 at 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Main Stage Theatre of the Performing Arts Center

    Callback Requirements:
    *There will be a 30-minute dance movement call at the top of callbacks
    -Actors called back will be asked to sing sides from the show.
    -Sides will be available a week before the auditions. Please contact Prof. Laura Rikard for more information at lrikard2@uscupstate.edu.

    Please fill out the audition form in advance. A link to the callback sides for the actors and instrumentalists is included in the form.

    If you are concerned you cannot take the above course or are not an enrolled student, you are still welcome to audition.

    About RENT: Based loosely on Puccini’s La Boheme, Jonathan Larson’s Rent follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side. Pennilessness, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, social tension, and political unrest, among other hardships, challenge the group physically and emotionally. Facing the problems head on, these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves and conflicts and find what really matters most in life.

    Roles Available: 3F, 5M plus 7 ensemble
    Production Dates: April 10-13, 2025
