Come join us for our week-long Teen Summer Academy and we will provide your student with a greater understanding of the important role of nurses in health, education, and in communities. The University of South Carolina Upstate’s Mary Black College of Nursing will host its Teen Summer Academy this summer enabling rising 10th-12th graders in Spartanburg County to explore careers in nursing.
WHEN:
- The academy will be held from June 24-28, 2024, on USC Upstate’s main campus.
WHO:
- Teen resident of Spartanburg County
- Attendee of Spartanburg County Schools
- Rising grades 10-12
- Limited space available (15 students)

- Learn about the role of the nurse.
- Explore various nursing career options.
- Explore various educational pathways to nursing.
- Learn how to prepare for college and nursing as a major.
- Participate in hands-on clinical simulations.
- Learn CPR and basic first aid skills.
- Take a hospital tour.
