All mail and packages should be addressed to 470 Hodge Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Packages will be securely placed in mail lockers by staff. Students will receive an email notification with pickup instructions once packages are ready.

Three lockouts are permitted per year at no charge. Each additional lockout incurs a $25 fee.

Yes. All students living in university housing must have a meal plan.

Only fish in tanks no larger than 10 gallons are permitted. Emotional Support Animals must be pre-approved by Disability Services.

Yes. Students can rent a loft from College Products, USC Upstate’s approved vendor. DIY lofts or risers exceeding 8 inches are not permitted.

- Magnolia & Palmetto: Laundry rooms on each floor.
- Villas: Laundry is in The Landing.
Laundry is free for all residential students.

Yes. Room changes are allowed based on availability starting two weeks after classes begin. Students must submit the Room Change Form in the Housing Portal. Unauthorized moves will incur a $200 fine.

An LLC is a themed residential floor for first-year students with shared academic or personal interests. Sign up during the housing application process.

Single rooms are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If a room becomes partially vacant, students must maintain the unused space for a new roommate or pay the double-as-single fee.

Residents can access their housing assignment 24/7 by logging into the Housing Portal (where you applied for housing).

Students must register through the USC Upstate Parking Services site and pick up their permit from University Police.

Yes. All students are allowed to have cars on campus, including first-year residents.

Yes. First-year students enrolled full-time must live on campus unless they fall under the below criteria:
- Living with parents/guardians within 35 miles (must provide proof)
- 21 years or older after the fist day of classes
- Military service
- Married
- Have children

- New students (Fall 2025+): Max 1.7 cubic feet
- Returning students (Fall 2024 or earlier): Max 4.2 cubic feet
All refrigerators must be UL/ETL/CSA certified with a 3-prong plug. (Handbook: Refrigerator Guidelines, pg. 73)

- Lost key: $75 lock change fee
- Lost temp card: $25 replacement
- Lost or damaged student ID: $35 for lost card, $15 for damaged
Keys and cards may not be duplicated or shared. If you need to replace a lost or damage card visit the Campus Safety office.

Students must dispose of trash in designated dumpsters. Bags left in hallways or near doors will result in $25 per bag fines. Shared areas are subject to inspection.

Follow instructions from RAs, University Police, or emergency responders. Procedures for fire, severe weather, and lockdowns are provided during orientation and outlined in the Guide to Residential Life handbook.

Students requesting cancellation will be charged a $500 release fee and pro-rated housing costs. First-year students must receive approval before cancelling their housing.

- Fall, Thanksgiving, Spring Break: Students may stay on campus at no additional cost if they register on time.
- Winter Break: Residence halls and University apartments are closed during Winter Break. Students may request break housing at a rate of $475, billed to their student account.
