Hello, and welcome to the College of Science and Technology at USC Upstate! I have the privilege of serving as the dean of this fantastic college, and I could not be more proud of the impact we are having on the Upstate region and South Carolina. The creation of CST a few years ago resulted in all STEM-focused academic programs being housed together in an autonomous college.  This provides increased visibility for the strong programming already underway in the academic units, and it provides opportunities for growth with the development of innovative cross-disciplinary initiatives.

The three academic units within the College of Science & Technology are the Department of Informatics and Engineering Systems, the Division of Mathematics and Computer Science, and the Division of Natural Sciences and Engineering. I encourage you to take some time to browse their respective web pages to learn more about them. You will find that each unit offers rigorous and engaging academic programming, opportunities for undergraduate research, engagement with community partners, and internship and service opportunities.

Whether you’re a new student or a returning student, a potential new community partner or a longstanding one, or even a potential new faculty member, we hope that you’ll join us as we build this college. The possibilities for enhancing STEM education for our students and in our surrounding communities are endless!
