Housekeeping and Maintenance
Housekeeping at USC Upstate is committed to making the University as comfortable, clean, safe and attractive as possible. University housekeeping staff members strive for and provide excellence in everything they do. In addition to housekeeping services, they also offer sustainable cleaning information, secure document shredding and recycling services. The Maintenance Team at USC Upstate is dedicated to completing all maintenance in a timely and efficient manner. Our team strives to meet your expectations when performing planned or unplanned maintenance services.
Landscaping Services
The Landscape Services Department, a 14-member division of Facilities Management, provides the following services on the Spartanburg campus of USC Upstate: Landscape planning, design, construction, and maintenance; design, planting, and care of gardens; management and enhancement of the Susan Jacobs Arboretum and the Rotary International Peace Park; planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals; maintenance of parking areas, sidewalks, streets, pathways; installation and maintenance of irrigation lines and landscape lighting; yard waste and recycling services; campus litter cleanup; and snow removal.

- 140 species of shrubs, with 60 percent of those planted in the Arboretum

- 6-acre USC Upstate Rotary International Peace Park, with pond, fountain, amphitheater, two walking bridges, a waterfall, 400 trees, benches, various gardens, walking paths, conifer collection and ornamental grasses.
Our Mission
Through the efforts of more than 70 dedicated employees, our department maintains over 1 million square feet of building space, parking lots, athletic facilities and about 330 acres of grounds. We maintain the University’s major utility systems including electrical, street lighting, hot and chilled water, potable water and sewer. We are responsible for capital project development, housekeeping services, recycling, building and grounds maintenance and utility services.
